April 25, 2016– ContentWise (TV Connect: 143) the personalization, discovery, analytics and metadata expert, today announced that TV Connect will see the European debut of the newly released update of its personalization platform, ContentWise 5.4. The release enables content providers to achieve advanced personalization for linear TV, catch-up, VOD and OTT services with unprecedented simplicity and accuracy.
ContentWise 5.4 features the first UX Personalization API expressly designed for multiscreen app developers together with advanced tools for marketing and editorial teams. The solution supports content curation and provides personalized search and discovery, targeted promotions and context-based adaptation to user’s habits through the new UX API.
This new release, which was officially launched at NAB 2016 last week, extends the ContentWise Content Personalization System that analyzes user’s viewing history and extracts content consumption preferences together with emotional, social and lifestyle traits.
ContentWise 5.4 consolidates on-demand catalogues, TV guide information, news feeds and third-party metadata in order to automate the digital storefront for each individual viewer. The new release offers advanced functionality that enables content operators to create seamless and personalized user experiences with greater ease than ever before, including:
- A UX API to streamline the development of personalized TV apps and provide the operator with a single point of control over the viewer’s experience;
- A new automated ‘user cold start’ feature that offers a personalized set of collections and discovery options within three seconds of a new viewer coming on-board. Unlike traditional recommendation engines that take hours to re-compute algorithmic models, the ContentWise Personalized Welcome Discovery Package is ready in seconds;
- Support for automatic microgenres generation and personalization. ContentWise builds thousands of unique collections by automatically clustering content and matching them to individual viewers in real time.
CTO of ContentWise, Pancrazio Auteri, commented:
“Operators are taking great efforts to establish an online multiscreen presence but are faced with poor conversions of the trial phase and high churn due to users missing the value of the content offering. We can help them to welcome new users by surfacing the right catalogue perspectives, to lower the ‘time-to-play’ and increase the number of successful user sessions based on metrics that will have the greatest impact for the business. We are very happy to see our customers investing more on their TV services and we are grateful for their feedback and help in validating the new UX API and ContentWise recipe, which uniquely blends human editorial curation with the speed of the machine and the insight of actionable analytics.”
