UX Engine 10: New Editorial Portal, Enhanced Discovery, and Generative Metadata Enrichment

You are here:

UX Engine 10 is a comprehensive update that brings significant advancements to our platform, focusing on streamlining editorial workflows, improving content discovery, and automating metadata generation.

These new features are designed to help operators deliver a more engaging and personalized user experience while maximizing the value of their content libraries.

New Editorial Portal

The Editorial Portal is a new suite of features designed to streamline the daily workflows of content teams. It encompasses tools for content curation, scheduling, and management, all accessible through an intuitive interface.

The portal includes granular permission controls, allowing operators to fine-tune access levels for different team members. This ensures that the right people have the right level of access, enhancing both security and efficiency.

The enhanced editor use cases focus on simplifying the creation of editorial lists and improving catalog exploration for content teams. New tools allow editors to quickly search, sort, and filter content based on various parameters, including those generated by our semantic analysis.

This makes it easier to create thematic collections, spotlights, or recommendations. The improved catalog exploration features give editors a deeper understanding of their content library, uncovering hidden gems or unexpected connections.

Improved Semantic AI Search

Our new Semantic Search functionality leverages AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to deeply understand content within a catalog. It goes beyond traditional keyword matching, interpreting and meaning to deliver more accurate search results.

For end-users, we’ve implemented a hybrid model that combines semantic and term-based search, offering the best of both worlds without forcing a “hard” choice between the two.

This results in a significantly improved user experience, helping viewers find exactly what they’re looking for, even when their queries are complex or ambiguous. For operators, this means higher user satisfaction, increased content discovery, and potentially longer viewing sessions.

Additionally, semantic search resolves most of the traditional issues with bad metadata quality like lack of a defined taxonomy, inconsistencies, spelling errors and more.

Integrated Open Enricher

Open Enricher is a companion module that automates the enrichment of content catalogs.

It uses metadata and other available information to generate rich, detailed descriptors, including settings, moods, subjects, themes, genres, subgenres, and keywords, all while following customer-defined, domain-specific taxonomies and dictionaries.

The metadata generation and enrichment process leverages Generative AI models, which provide state-of-the-art semantic analysis and natural language processing (NLP), all within an editor-in-the-loop framework where human expertise and AI capabilities collaborate seamlessly.

This comprehensive enrichment process helps operators maximize the value of their content libraries by improving discoverability, enabling more precise recommendations, and supporting advertising capabilities.

Improved Playlist Creator

The Playlist Creator continues to evolve, offering an expanded range of applicable rules and introducing more powerful controls for channel curation, planning, and scheduling.

With the adoption of our newly developed LLM-based technology, the Playlist Creator now features semantic discovery to enhance content selection.

By leveraging advanced language understanding, operators can explore catalogs and curate themed content bundles with prompts like “Quick weeknight dinner recipes for beginner home cooks” or “travel destinations for eco-conscious travelers” providing greater control over playlist composition.

Looking ahead, we are building out-of-the-box integration with streaming and playout solutions, enabling automatic 1-to-1 playlist generation. Personalized playlists will be tailored for each user based on preferences, viewing history, and content characteristics, creating a closed-loop system for linear TV.

UX Engine 10 represents a major step forward in providing operators with the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive market. With enhanced advertising capabilities, a streamlined editorial portal, advanced semantic search, automated metadata generation, and a powerful playlist creator, operators can offer a more personalized, engaging, and effective user experience.

As we continue to develop UX Engine, we remain committed to providing innovative solutions that help our clients thrive in the evolving landscape of streaming media.
